LONGVIEW, Wash. -- A 19-year-old Longview man was charged with stabbing his 7-year-old brother Saturday, police said.

Police were called to the report of a stabbing just after 11 p.m., said Longview police Sgt. John Reeves.

Responding officers said Alexander Sophan Vath had stabbed his little brother in the arm to see what would happen, Reeves said.

The boy was treated at St. John Medical Center for a 4-inch long knife wound. The teen was jailed on charges of assault and minor in possession of alcohol.
