THE DALLES, Ore. (AP) -- State police say a crash on Interstate 84 just east of The Dalles killed 47-year-old Pablo Medino who was the driver and injured his two passengers.

Lt. Greg Hastings said the crash happened late Saturday morning when a car collided with a guardrail after trying to pass a commercial truck.

The 1994 Oldsmobile came to a stop along the north side of the westbound lanes.

A 70-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was flown to a Portland hospital with serious injuries. Hastings says a 16-year-old boy in the back seat had minor injuries.

Hastings says neither the driver nor the survivors wore seat belts.

Trooper Mark Jubitz is leading the crash investigation.
