PORTLAND -- Two men pointed a gun and ordered the clerk of a Plaid Pantry in North Portland into a closet while they took items from behind the counter early Tuesday morning, police said.

The robbery occurred shortly after midnight at the store on North Greeley Avenue.

Investigators said two African American men in their early 20s who went behind the counter and grabbed items but did not get any money, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

Plaid Pantry, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
