VANCOUVER -- Two people were injured when a boat ran aground on a Vancouver beach Saturday, fire officials said.

Crews were called just before 3:30 p.m. to the report of a boat crashing at Wintler Park, on SE Beach Drive, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

One person was in the water and was struck in the back by the boat. The other person was injured while on the beach.

Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries and then taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Vancouver police were investigating.
