PORTLAND -- Activists held a vigil overnight Tuesday at City Hall in solidarity with a homeless tent camp in Old Town that was under increasing scrutiny by officials.

The camp called Right 2 Dream Too is on private property at NW 4th and Burnside. It holds about 30 tents and about 50 to 75 people sleep there each night.

The encampment was formed shortly after the city of Portland closed Occupy Portland camps in two downtown parks.

The city has fined the encampment $600 for being an illegal campground. At the end of the rally, protesters contributed money toward the fine. The city warned that fines will double in April.
