GOVERNMENT CAMP -- The rain that preceded Thursday's snowfall in Portland and valley fell as snow this week in the Cascades, creating double-digit accumulations of powder.
If you're headed up, dress warmly. The Friday forecast for Government Camp has a high of 15 degrees. Lows on the mountain will dip into single digits.
Timberline reported 26 inches of new snow during this mid-week storm, with 15 inches overnight. The base depth is now 132. It was nine degrees Thursday morning.
Mount Hood Meadows had 17 inches of snow overnight for a total base of 105 inches. The storm has dumped a total of 27 inches this week.
Big news at Mt. Hood Skibowl.The resort has opened up its 300-acre Outback area with its challenging black diamond runs. Skibowl was blessed with 14 inches overnight.
Even Cooper Spur will be full up and running this weekend.
