PORTLAND -- Portland police have recovered a huge stash of stolen goods believed taken from cars and storage units throughout the city and even north to Vancouver.

Police recovered 10 handguns, 31 laptop computers, packed luggage, electronic equipment, furniture, power tools and many other items.

Michael Pavlicek, 37, is suspected in the rash of burglaries. Pavlickek was first arrested July 3 by Portland State University police for having a stolen car.

Before that arrest, North Precinct detectives suspected him of many thefts and were on the lookout for him, according to bureau spokeswoman Detective Mary Wheat. They connected him with thefts along Northeast Portland Way, around Jantzen Beach and around PSU, she said

Detectives were asking potential victims to come forward and try to identify the stolen property.
