MADRAS, Ore. -- Bloody clothes that apparently belonged to a Deer Ridge prison escapee were found in an empty lot in downtown Madras.

Jefferson County Sheriff Jim Adkins told KTVZ the blood will be compared with blood found in a stolen car and on a fence at the Deer Ridge Correctional Institution where Clinton Orvill Swearingen escaped Sunday.

Police are still looking for the 31-year-old who had been serving time on theft and burglary convictions in Linn County.
