CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- A 15-year-old South Salem High School student was arrested Thursday after administrators found a handgun in his backpack.
Police Lt. Dave Okada said there's no indication he was targeting anyone at school. The gun was not loaded.
The Statesman Journal reported the student may be expelled in addition to facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possessing a firearm in a public building and possessing a stolen firearm.
