GRESHAM, Ore. A masked gunman tied up and robbed a Gresham hotel clerk early Sunday morning, which is another in a series of hotel robberies around the Portland area.

The night clerk at the Holiday Inn on Northeast Hogan Drive told police an armed man in a black ski mask demanded money from him, said Officer Malaka Kerbs with Gresham police.

The suspect also told the clerk he had a bomb and tied him up in a back room before taking off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police were aware of the other robberies in the area but have not said if they think they are related.

On Saturday morning, a masked robber tied up a hotel clerk in Woodland, Wash. And on Friday, Sept. 6, an armed man tied up two Wilsonville La Quinta Inn Employees the day after a similar robbery at the Silver Cloud in Northwest Portland.
