OREGON CITY, Ore. -- An Oregon City High School teacher pleaded guilty to misconduct in court Monday and lost his job, following allegations he received nude photos from a student at the school.

The investigation began after the school district received complaints from several people that a 16-year-old female student had sent lewd photos to teacher Alexander Taylor through a smartphone app called Snapchat, according to Oregon City police Lt. Jim Band.

Investigators believe Taylor had an inappropriate relationship with two students.

Monday in court, he was ordered to surrender his Oregon teaching certificate and resign from his job at Oregon City High School. He was also sentenced to 18 months of probation and 10 days in jail. He must pay a $500 dollar fine and $1,400 dollars restitution to the family of a victim who was undergoing psychological counseling.

The school district did not comment on specifics of the investigation, but previously released this statement: A complaint regarding a teacher was received at Oregon City High School and the district office. The issue was referred to Oregon City police for further investigation. The teacher was placed on leave pending the outcome of that investigation.
