PORTLAND -- After a great weekend of fresh snow for skiers and snowboarders, Mt. Hood Meadows announced Tuesday it would be closed due to heavy rain.
Heavy rain will suspend operations for Tuesday, the resort announced via Twitter just after 4 a.m. See you at 9 AM Wednesday!
The announcement followed a banner weekend on the slopes, which saw 18 inches of fresh snow between Friday and Monday. The resort had opened four lifts and their terrain parks. More: Mt. Hood Meadows conditions
KGW Meteorologist Rod Hill said a 7,000-foot snow level Tuesday would drop significantly each day for the rest of the week, bringing more fresh snow to the Mt. Hood resorts.
Snow showers with a snow level between 2,000 and 3,000 feet are in the forecast starting Wednesday.
