KITTITAS, Wash. -- A Washington state trooper says a 17-year-old Kittitas High School student arrived at school Thursday morning seeking help after he was shot off campus.
Trooper Darren Wright says that the student is in stable condition and taken to a hospital.
He says that as a precaution the secondary and elementary schools in the town about five miles east of Ellensburg were locked down, but are transitioning to just a perimeter lock down that allows parents to pick up their children. He says all students are accounted for.
Wright says troopers and sheriff's deputies are looking for a shooter, although they are still investigating and waiting to talk to the wounded student.
