PORTLAND A man died after he was struck by a car on the east end of the Hawthorne Bridge Sunday morning, police said.

The man's name is being withheld until the family is notified, said Lt. Robert King with Portland Police.

The bridge was closed shortly after 9 a.m. but was reopened around 11 a.m.

Police said speed was not a factor in the accident and the driver was not impaired.
