Portland's skyline was a little darker Saturday night.

The city and many of its local office tenants took part in "earth hour."

The spire on the convention center went dark. So did the exterior lights on the Rose Garden. The lights on the "Made in Oregon" sign also stopped flashing, making Burnside a little darker than usual.

Earth Hour was a nationwide effort to reduce electricity consumption by turning out lights for an hour on March 28th.
