In American Muscle , a new reality show following a well-known trainer set to air on the Discovery Channel on Wednesday, Richard Sherman opens up about the butterflies he still gets while playing and the secrets to the NFL draft. The draft process is not an exact science by any means and they miss great players all the time, he said, pointing to his own situation with a hand gesture. The show follows Mike Barwis, whose resume includes stints with Michigan, West Virginia and as an adviser to the Mets. It s produced by Funny or Die and was announced late last year.Sherman, who endures a few awkward minutes of jokes about his infamous postgame interview when he first comes into the gym, is the first of a group of A-list athletes which includes Nick Swisher, Baron Davis and Ndamukong Suh slated to appear on the show.Watch the video I remember being hungry, Sherman told NFL draft prospect Vladimir Emilien. I remember my bank account being negative 40 and so I never forget that. I never forget being at the bottom and what it took to get out of that. Sherman had spoken about being overlooked before even vaulting into one of the most well-known NFL players in the country he s said that he can name all of the defensive backs drafted ahead of him in 2011 and unsurprisingly uses that as motivation. He also spoke about the butterflies he still feels whenever he suits up. Everybody get them, I don t think they ever go away. If that go away you lost the love of the game, he said. But the point to you is to relax out there, once you find your zone, you ll find your confidence, you find your place, god willing you get your shot.
