PORTLAND The rain couldn't dampen spirits at Portland's 44th annual Pride Parade in downtown Portland Sunday.
Businesses, politicians, and community groups gathered to march in support of Oregon and Southwest Washington's LGBTQ communities.
Rainbow-colored outfits and homemade decorations mingled with decked-out parade floats and elaborate costumes.
This year, marchers made a special point to celebrate the recent reinstatement of same-sex marriage, as it was less than a month ago that a judgestruck downOregon's gay marriage ban and granted same-sex couples the right to marry.
The parade is the flagship event of thePortland Pride Festival, which also included music acts, a block party, a Trans march and activities at Tom McCall Waterfront Park Saturday and Sunday.
Comedy writer Bruce Vilanch was this year s Master of Ceremonies for the festival.
