PORTLAND U.S. Airways has apologized to a Portland woman for tweeting a pornographic picture to her, after she complained about a flight delay.
Airline officials said an employee was trying to respond to the Portland woman by sending her an Internet link to a complaint form, but somehow the offensive picture was sent out, instead of the link.
Along with the photo, the airline sent this message to the Portland woman named Elle: We welcome feedback, Elle. If your travel is complete, you can detail here for review and follow up.
U.S. Airways went on to explain that another twitter follower had tweeted the image to American Airlines first, and then it somehow ended up in the U.S. Airways tweet because the two airlines are merging.
The apology tweet went viral and social media was flooded with jokes and comments after a story about it appeared on Huffington Post. The pornographic tweet has since been deleted by U.S. Airways.
