EUGENE, Ore. -- An Oregon postal worker seeks more than $180,000 in a lawsuit filed against the owner of a dog that allegedly attacked her.
The Register-Guard newspaper reportsthat Kristin Joachim's suit was filed in Lane County Circuit Court.
The court document states that Joachim was delivering mail in a Eugene neighborhood two years ago when she was attacked by a Siberian Husky named Yukon that was on a leash, but escaped from its owner's control.
The suit says Joachim suffered serious facial injuries, and the owner knew Yukon was abnormally dangerous.
The suit includes few other details, and a police log from the day of the attack does not list the incident.
Postal Service spokesman Mark Saunders says more than 5,000 letter carriers each year report being attacked by dogs.
