PORTLAND -- Homicide detectives were called in after a body was found down an embankment in North Portland Tuesday morning.
Portland police were called just before 7:30 a.m. to the report of a dead body near the 3300 block of North Interstate Avenue.
Officer arrived and confirmed the person was dead, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau. Homicide detectives and forensics experts were called to the scene.
UPDATE: Wednesday afternoon police said a medical examiner had determined the death was a suicide.
