PORTLAND -- Portland's annual Rose Festival kicked off with the opening of City Fair at Waterfront Park Friday evening.
City Fair opened at 5 p.m. Admission was $7 for everybody 7 years old or older. On Friday night, the RoZone concert experience also opened with a performance from Hit Machine, and for one night the concert was free with the City Fair admission.

The concert kicked off after the RoZone Fireworks Experience. During the fireworks the Hawthorne Bridge was closed Friday from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The RoZone stage will feature concerts from local and national performers like Edward Sharpe and the Magentic Zeros and Fitz and the Tantrums.
