PORTLAND -- Two armed carjackers confronted a couple in the Gateway Fred Meyer parking lot and took their car around 9:15 Wednesday night.

The man and woman were getting out of their car right after parking at the store on Northeast 102nd Avenue.

The driver told police he saw two men with handguns approaching. One of the suspects demanded his possessions. He handed over his wallet, cell phone and money.

The second suspect walked over to the car and pulled the female passenger out. The carjacked couple was not injured.

One suspect was described as a white man in his late 20s, 5-foot-8 and 235 pounds, with short black hair, some facial hair, and wearing dark clothes. The other suspect was described as a light-skinned African American man in his late 20s, 5-foot-8 and 140 to 150 pounds, wearing dark clothes.

The stolen car was a black 2012 Honda Civic 2-Door with Oregon license plate CU27516. It was last seen driving southbound on Northeast 99th Avenue.

Police were asking that anyone who spots the vehicle call 911 right away. Anyone with information about this robbery was asked to contact investigators at (503) 823-0405.
