PORTLAND -- Hundreds of parents and teachers packed the auditorium at Woodlawn School Thursday to voice their opinions about a proposal to close the school.

Under one of two proposals, Woodlawn would shut its doors permanently to balance enrollment within the district, but that idea isn't sitting well with Woodlawn supporters.

There's still a way to go before the school would shut down though. The superintendent first has to make a recommendation to the school board, which will happen in the next few weeks.
