BEAVERTON Rescuers worked to free two people from a car after two vehicles crashed in Beaverton Saturday evening, police said.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. in the intersection of Southwest Scholls Ferry Road and Southwest Horizon Street between a Jeep Cherokee and an early model Ford Mustang, said Mike Rowe with the Beaverton Police Department.

The two occupants of the Mustang were trapped after the accident and rescuers from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue worked to free them. They were taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, Rowe said.

Investigators did not know if alcohol or speed were a factor in the crash.
