The high school football season kicks off Friday with a handful of premiere non-league games, including Central Catholic hosting Lake Oswego at Hillsboro Stadium.

Its a rematch of last year's season opener, in which the Rams stunned the Lakers in Lake Oswego 20-12. Both schools made the playoffs, but fell well short of their goal, to play in the state title game.

Central Catholic features one of the nation's most highly recruited defensive ends in Brennan Scarlett. The senior has received numerous scholarships offers from schools all over the country, including Oregon, Oregon State, Alabama and Notre Dame.

The Rams will play all their home games at Hillsboro Stadium during the renovations to PGEPark.
