PORTLAND, Ore. -- A 26-year-old man was arrested for trying to burn down a food cart in downtown Portland last week.

Portland Fire Investigators and Portland Police said the cart at SW 5th Avenue and Stark Street caught on fire around 11 p.m.A window was also smashed out of the cart.

Investigators did not think the cart had a name, but said it appeared that vendors sold bento there.

Police had partially put out the fire, but it caused around $3,000 in damage to the cart. Investigators arrested Kevin Daniel Mackin for burglary and arson near the scene, saying the fire was intentionally set.

The case was set to be presented to a grand jury on Thursday.
