PORTLAND --Family, friends, volunteers and dog teams searched for missing Portland boy Kyron Horman Saturday after Horman's mom said she had received new tips about where her son might be.
Desiree Young, fighting through tears Saturday afternoon, addressed the media on Sauvie Island after a day of searching for Kyron.
It's hard every time, Young said of the continued search for her son. There were key areas we still hadn't finished ruling out.
Horman was last seen at Skyline Elementary on June 4, 2010. Massive search efforts have turned up very few clues over the last four years.
Law enforcement officials have not conducted any searches since August 2013, but Young and Kyron's dad, Kaine Horman, have raised money and gathered volunteers to continue looking for their son.
Although her son wasn't found Saturday, Young said she will never give up hope.
It's critical we keep Kryon's face out there, she said.

Young also alluded to her previous claims that Kyron's stepmother, Terri Horman, is responsible for his disappearance.
It's not a stranger that walked into Kyron's school and took him. It was someone in our trusted circle, she said. We have lots of evidence. We just don't have that final thing. It's frustrating.
Young said volunteers and dogs were still out searching for Kyron.
We'll be out there until we're done, she said.
