ALBANY, Ore. -- An injured dog was found on a Linn County road Tuesday morning and police are asking for help finding it's owner.

The adult beagle was found on Highway 228 near Brush Creek Road at about 6:30 a.m., said Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Tim Fox.

The injured dog may have fallen out of the back of a pickup or was clipped by a passing vehicle, Fox said.

Troopers put the dog in the back of an patrol car and took him to an Albany-area veterinarian for treatment. It a black collar, but no identification tag or a computer microchip.

Anyone with information about the dog was asked to call OSP at 800-452-7888.
