PORTLAND The Oregon Humane Society said they hope to find a home for nearly 200 shelter animals by the end of the year.
Any pet at the shelter on Dec. 1 was considered a Home for the Holidays pet. They include terrier mix Petunia (pictured left) and short-haired tabby Bogie (pictured right).
What better way is there to celebrate the holidays than to adopt a pet who is most in need of a home? said OHS Executive Director Sharon Harmon.
During the month of Dec., the shelter is showcasing pictures of all of their adoptable animals in its lobby.
The OHS Animal Giving Tree is also on display for anyone who wants to leave a gift for the shelter animals.
Harmon said all of the adoptable animals at OHS will remain at the shelter until they find a new home.
Even though we work hard to make the shelter a loving environment, it s no substitute for the warmth and joy a family s home can provide, Harmon said.
