VANCOUVER -- A man using a walker was hit by a vehicle as he crossed a Vancouver street Monday evening. The driver left the scene.

The 65-year-old Stephen D. Dewey of Vancouver was in a crosswalk on Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard near Southeast 105th Ave when he was struck by the car at about 7 p.m., according to the Vancouver Police Department.

He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Dewey was in critical condition Wednesday morning.

The driver sped away. Police are looking for a gray sedan, which likely has front end damage.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or the crash was asked to contact Vancouver police or call 911.
