PORTLAND -- A car that sped away from a traffic stop crashed into another car Monday night in Northeast Portland and caught fire.

Police said the man helped a woman out of the car then ran away.

The 32-year-old man was tracked down by a police dog and arrested.

Police said Dewitt Rhodes Jr. was treated at a hospital, along with his passenger and the driver of the other car who were injured in the collision.

Rhodes was later released and charged with assault, attempt to elude, reckless driving, hit and run, driving while revoked, and reckless endangerment.
