WILSONVILLE, Ore. -- A company from Wilsonville played a major role in capturing the Boston bombing suspect.
Infrared thermal images from a helicopter helped confirm the suspect was hiding in a boat in a Watertown, Mass. neighborhood The system used in the helicopter came from Wilsonville company FLIR (Thermal Imaging, Night Vision and Infrared Camera Systems).
The impact really is all personal, frankly. I mean, I'm very proud that FLIR was able to play a role in this case and aiding law enforcement to do the right thing here, said Andy Teich, president of commercial systems at FLIR.
It's even more personal because Teich is originally from Boston, and has more than 400 employees working there.
