THE DALLES, Ore. -- An 88-year-old woman is suspected of driving in the wrong direction on I-84 near The Dalles on Monday, crashing and closing down eastbound lanes for more than an hour.
Jocelyn Gay, 88, of The Dalles, was driving on I-84 when she realized she missed her exit and made a U-turn into oncoming traffic, according to Oregon State Police.
Investigators said oncoming drivers were flashing their lights at Gay and trying to get her attention before she crashed into a Umatilla driver; both drivers were going 65 mph. No one was seriously injured in the crash.
Eastbound lanes of I-84 were closed for about 90 minutes as crews investigated the crash.
