PORTLAND -- One woman was killed and four others were injured in four separate car-pedestrian accidents Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning in the Portland area.
Ksenia Aleksandrova, 71, and 70-year-old Pavel Krivolenkov (pictured) were walking along a street in Southeast Portland when they were both hit by a car just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Aleksandrova died at a Portland hospital Wednesday morning of injuries suffered in the crash. Krivolenkov's injuries were traumatic, but not life-threatening, according to Portland Police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
The Washington County sheriff's office said a car hit a 14-year-old boy running across a street on the way home from a sports practice. He was conscious when Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue took him to a Portland hospital.
A 16-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car in Southeast Portland just before 7 p.m. He remained in critical condition Wednesday morning, Simpson said.
Wednesday morning about 6:30, a pedestrian was struck at Southeast Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Hawthorne.
The drivers in all four accidents remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
