PORTLAND, Ore. -- Another official connected to the troubled Cover Oregon health insurance exchange has submitted his resignation.
As first reported by The Oregonian on Thursday, Steve Powell's last day will be June 5th. The state said he has found a new job, but did not release any details.
Powell was the top deputy to Carolyn Lawson, the Chief Information Officer for the Oregon Health Authority and Department of Human Services, who resigned in December.
After Lawson's resignation, Powell replaced her on an interim basis. In April, the state brought back John Koreski, Lawson's predecessor, to take over for Powell. Powell became his deputy.
Powell is the sixth official to resign after being connected to the Cover Oregon issues.
