PORTLAND --- A man was stabbed in the head in downtown Portland Wednesday night and police arrested the suspect a short time later.

The victim, 65-year-old Larry Holm, and his attacker were inside a car parked at Southwest 9th Avenue and Alder Street when the stabbing occurred just before 10 p. m., according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

Holm was transported to a Portland hospital with a traumatic head injury but he was expected to survive, Simpson said.

Suspect Colby Alpin, 27, was arrested at the scene. Investigators said Holm and Alpin knew one another.
