TACOMA, Wash. -- Researchers have found evidence that Church of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard helped build trails with a Boy Scout troop in 1925 on Mount Rainier.

A National Park Service employee found a sign seven years ago on a trail near Longmire that said it was built by Eagle Scouts. A story in The News Tribune at the time listed the Scouts, including Ronald Hubbard of Seattle.

The newspaper reports researcher Chris Finn of Issaquah with the Friends of L. Ron Hubbard Foundation confirmed Hubbard was a member of the Scout troop that did the trail work.
