PORTLAND -- A storm system brought a half-inch of rain to the Portland Metro area overnight and another wave of showers and cool air will bring snow to the mountain passes, said KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard.

The snow level will fall down to around pass level this afternoon and evening with about 4 to 8 inches of snow just today and another 3 to 5 inches tonight and into Thursday, Allard said Wednesday morning.

Portland should dry out by the weekend, but the snow level will stay at pass level through the middle of next week, Allard said.
