PORTLAND -- Multnomah County searchers said a Longview woman who became lost on a hike Friday in the Columbia River Gorge was found by a fellow hiker Friday morning.

Connie Dooney, 44, was separated from two hiking companions, her son and nephew, who called 911 Thursday evening from Multnomah Falls Lodge. Authorities said Dooney wasn't prepared to spend the night outdoors.

Another hiker called 911 just before 8 a.m. Friday to say he found her and she was in good condition.

He gave her a bottle of water and Powerbar to eat, said Lt. Steve Alexander of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

Dooney was reunited with her family just before 9 a.m.

Connie had fallen once on the trail and received some small abrasions on her knees, and slightly twisted her ankle but was still able to walk down the trails, Alexander said.
