PORTLAND -- Emergency crews found the driver dead in a rollover crash early Friday morning in Southeast Portland.

Investigators believe 25-year-old Cory Dodge lost control of his vehicle while driving around 70 mph south on Southeast 60th Avenue after crossing East Burnside Street around 4 a.m., said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

Dodge's vehicle then hit an embankment and rolled before it hit a tree where investigators believe he died instantly, Simpson said.

Dodge was not wearing a seat belt and investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash.

The crash closed 60th from Stark to Burnside for several hours for the investigation.
