PORTLAND -- Power was temporarily knocked out for several Southeast Portland businesses Tuesday morning.

The road was closed to traffic in the area of Southeast 50th Avenue and Powell Boulevard as crews worked to replace a power pole and transformer.

Portland General Electric employees said a car had crashed into the power pole and knocked it down around midnight.

Crews said there was no safety concern to neighbors, and no power was out for area homes.
