PORTLAND -- Holiday revelers in the Portland area can worry a bit less about how they'll get back home this New Year's Eve, as TriMet is offering free service from 8 p.m. until about 3 a.m. In Salem, Willamette yellow cabs were also free from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
TriMet buses, the Portland Streetcar and the WES commuter rail will run on regular weekday schedules. Some MAX lines will add late-night service about every 30 minutes.
The final Yellow Line trip to the Expo Center will leave downtown Portland at 3:10 a.m. and the last trip to downtown Portland leaves the Expo Center at 2:24 a.m. A trip to the Rose Quarter Transit Center will leave the Expo Center at 3:42 a.m.
The last Green Line trip to Clackamas will leave downtown Portland at 3:04 a.m.
MAX Red Line trains will run on weekday schedules with shuttle bus service between the Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport after train service ends, until approximately 3:30 a.m.
