An Oregon business icon has died.

Al Reser, chairman of the board of Reser's Fine Foods died Monday night. He died in his sleep at his Florida vacation home.

Reser helped to turn a family potato salad recipe into a food empire. He also gave millions to Oregon State University and his name graces the university's football stadium. Reser was 74 years old.
