AUBURN, Wash. -- A man from Las Vegas was struck and killed by an Amtrak train on Saturday afternoon in Auburn, Wash., police said.
The train was traveling from Portland to Seattle and hit the man in the 900 block of 'C' Street Southwest in Auburn.
Police said the 42-year-old victim and a female friend were taking pictures on the BNSF tracks when the Amtrak train approached from the south. The victim was unable to get off the tracks before the train, traveling at 79 mph, struck him.
The train had about 130 people on board. They were bused to Seattle.
