PORTLAND A former Portland State University student has written screenplay that will start filming in Nashville with Robin Williams in the lead role.

Douglas Soesbe s Boulevard starts production in May. The story is about a man, played by Williams, who is trapped in a marriage that isn t emotionally fulfilling, largely because he is living a lie, according to PSU. It will be directed by Dito Montiel.

Soesbe grew up in Northeast Portland and graduated from PSU with a bachelor s degree in theater in 1971 and a master s degree in playwriting in 1976.

That something I wrote attracted a talent as discerning as Mr. Williams is a thrill. The day I found out was simply the most exciting time of my life, Soesbe said.

He lives in Los Angeles where he also works as a story analyst and editor for Universal.
