HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A Hillsboro woman is asking for help finding her 14-year-old son, who has been missing since Friday afternoon.
Drew Martin and a friend were dropped off at the Orenco MAX Station so they could go to a concert in Portland. Neither has been seen since.
I'm worried to death. I'd just like to know that my son is okay and for him to know that I'm not mad at him, said the teen's father, Dallas Martin. We just all need to know he's okay and the door's open and to come home.
Drew's mother, Erica Spencer, told KGW she is worried because he only took a backpack with him, and had no money or identification on him.
He's never run away before and we're really worried about him, she said. This is so out of character for him. I don't know why he would do this.
Police however said that the boy who was with Drew has run away numerous times before.
Monday morning Spencer was working with TriMet to get security footage from the MAX platform. She hoped it would offer clues into her son's disappearance.
Drew (pictured, above right) was described as 5-foot-2, 100 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.
The principal of Hillsboro High School, where Drew attends classes, called an all-staff meeting Monday morning to make everyone aware of the teen's disappearance and prepare counselors.
At this point, we are working closely with parents, law enforcement, and district leaders to respond to potential leads, while also providing emotional support to students who may need it, said principal Arturo Lomeli.
He added that he's hoping kids will come forward with information which could help investigators.
I want to believe he's fine and my hopes are that he is. Overnight is one thing, but it's been all weekend. I'm getting pretty worried at this point, Dallas said.
