Seahawks fans at CenturyLink Field not only broke Guinness World Record for noise at 137.6 decibels at Monday's Seahawks-Saints game, they also set off seismometers five different times during the game.
The University of Washington seismology lab first recorded the Beastquake almost three years ago, when Marshawn Lynch completed a 67-yard touchdown run against the Saints. To this day, it remains one of the best plays in Seahawks history.
Monday's game was the Saints' first trip back to Seattle since that January 2011 loss.
University of Washington Earth and Space Sciences Professor John Vidale says that the school's seismometer, located not far from the stadium, detected seismic activity five separate times during the Seahawks latest win over New Orleans.
Fans say they're proud, but not surprised.
You could just see, back in 2011, the Beastquake was the beginning of the tide, and this is the summation of it, said fan Jason Skoog. We're going to get home field advantage and go all the way to the Super Bowl.
