TIGARD, Ore. -- Neighbors saw flames shooting out of the roof of a Tigard apartment complex Tuesday morning and jumped into action to make sure everyone was safe.

The blaze quickly spread at the Main Street Village Apartments in Tigard.

Some people called 911 to help, while others knocked on doors and urged residents to get out fast. Thanks to their efforts, no one was hurt.

Investigators believe the fire started on a deck.

Two apartments were destroyed and a third sustained water damage.
