KEIZER, Ore. -- A Keizer husband and father was arraigned on murder charges Thursday in the shooting death of his wife and bail was denied.
Police have described the killing as a domestic violence attack. After an autopsy Wednesday, Dr.LarryLewman with the OregonMedical Examiner's office said 38-year-old Lisa Zielinski died of a gunshot wound to the brain.
Keizer Police said 39-year-old Peter Zielinski contacted police after calling an after-hours 9-1-1 dispatch phone to request an ambulance for his wife Lisa just after 7 a.m.
Medics and officers found Zielinski dead inside the couple's home on Nightingale Court.
Detectives secured the scene and arrested Peter Zielinski for murder. his vehicle was also impounded.
No on else was inside the home, but police said the couple had two young children who were taken into custody by family members.
Lisa worked for KYKN radio in Salem in their marketing and sales departments. Her boss said Lisa was always a ray of sunshine in their office.
When she walked in a room, her presence just lifted the room ... (it) seems so wrong, station owner Mike Frith said.
Zielinski was charged with one count of murder, and investigators said additional charges may be forthcoming.
