PORTLAND Police are searching for a suspect who touched two children inappropriately Thursday at a Kmart in Northeast Portland.

A woman said she was shopping with her 8-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy at the Kmart on 12350 NE Sandy Blvd round 11:30 a.m. when she walked away from her cart momentarily.

That s when a suspect reportedly approached her kids and began rubbing their shoulders, speaking both English and Spanish, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson of Portland police.

The mother confronted the suspect and he fled, Simpson said. The children were not hurt in the incident.

Police have not located the suspect.

He was described as a Hispanic man between 30 and 50 years old, around 5-foot-I and 180 pounds, with dark brown hair. He was wearing tan T-shirt with black-and-white stripes, black cargo shorts and black shoes.

Anyone with information about the suspect was asked to call 911.
